How To Make Cannabis-Infused Butter
Cannabis-infused butter can allow a person to get the benefits of cannabis in an easy to use format. The butter can be used on toast, in the place of regular butter in recipes, and many other applications. The butter will be strong so go easy if you're new to weed butter.
The cannabis can be placed on a baking sheet and put in a 240-degree oven. It should be allowed to stay in the oven for 40 minutes, turned a couple of times to make sure it heats evenly. It should become dry and should crumble easily.
On the stovetop boil a quart of water. Once the water boils use 4 sticks of butter for every ounce of cannabis. Do not add the cannabis to the pot at this time, just the butter.
Once the butter has melted add the cannabis. Go crazy or be chill. Turn the heat down to the lowest setting and allow the butter mixture to simmer for around three hours. To test if the butter is done: the top of the mixture looks glossy and thick.
While the butter is cooking it is important to prepare a container to hold the final product. A heatproof bowl works best but a plastic food container can also be used. Put two layers of cheesecloth over the top of the bowl. Secure the cheesecloth in place with string or with tape.
When the butter mixture is finished on the stove carefully pour it over the cheesecloth. Once all of the mixtures are in the bowl remove the twine from the cheesecloth. Roll it up for all of the four sides and squeeze the butter through it until there is nothing more to come out. This will help remove any plant material from the cannabis.
Allow the cannabis butter to cool. It should cool for around an hour. After this time put it in the refrigerator until the butter is completely solid. Any additional water left behind should be removed.
Once the cannabis butter is chilled and solid it can be used in just about any recipe. This butter goes well in both sweet and savory dishes. This butter is great for use in a chocolate chip cookie recipe. The butter will have some of the earthy taste of cannabis but it will add a nice flavor to any dish.
