What is the Difference Between Hemp Seed Oil and Hemp CBD Oil?

The cannabis plant is widely recognized as a plant that contains THC, the natural chemical used to make the commonly used drug, marijuana. Hemp is one of several variations of this plant and does not contain the THC component that produces the high effect when used. The differences in the variations of the plant have some believing outlawing the plant to be reconsidered. Recently, government officials have established new bills and regulations to decriminalize hemp to allow the utilization of the plant for industrial use for a wide variety of products. With the changes in policy regarding the plant, many products have entered the market that uses various parts of the hemp plant. Two common products that are often thought to be comparable are hemp seed oil and CBD oil, but these products could not be more different.

Hemp seed oil is produced from the seed of the hemp plant. It has been compared to other seeds that are consumed or made into oils, such as sunflower and canola. This oil has great nutritional value and are often brought as a superfood. It is a great source for "vitamins A and E, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and potassium" (Civilized, 2019). This is also an excellent source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which help with one's overall physical and mental health. They help with energy, fight infections, and be applied to the skin to assist in moisturizing. These are not produced by the human body and are obtained by one's diet alone.

CBD oil is made from the plant, not the seeds. The plant is made into an oil that is used to help with muscle aches, skin irritations, anxiety, and stress relief. Many people are turning to this plant for chronic pain and skin problems, such as sunburns and eczema. Many prefer the use of this oil, as opposed to prescription drugs, because of the prescription drugs because of the addictive nature of prescription drugs.

Those that have not investigated the difference between these two products an easily be confused when purchasing the oil that best fits their needs. Some retailers will advertise hemp oil and not distinguish which product it is. It is important to read the ingredients of a product labeled hemp oil to see which part of the plant that is used to make the oil. If it is difficult to tell what you are buying then consider looking at a better labeled products so the oil you purchase is able to be used in the way you need it.
