The British Virgin Islands (BVI) could be on the cusp of cannabis legislation, according to a report from Marijuana Moment.
Agriculture Minister Natalio Wheatley reported that a bill suggesting legalization will address safety concerns including underage consumption and cannabis use while driving and would eradicate “jail time for simple possession,” according to the publication.
The report comes on the heels of news that the nearby United State Virgins Islands (USVI) legalized medical use of cannabis earlier this year.
According to Marijuana Moment the BVI legalization “would make BVI a global model for legalization.
