Congressional Committee Meets to Discuss End of Cannabis Prohibition

Race, War on Drugs discussed at Congressional meeting Wednesday.

Members of a Congressional Committee met yesterday for the first time to discuss ending federal cannabis prohibition, according to Marijuana Moment.

Though the meeting did not include a legislative vote, Marijuana Moment reported it included review of “largely embraced evidence” and “informed conversations around the issues.”

Topics like social equity and the War on Drugs were particular topics of focus.

In addition to elected representatives, physicians and experts from the Cannabis Trader Federation, the Marijuana Policy Project and the Drug Policy Alliance’s Office of National Affairs were in attendance and testified.
