Meet Ashley Greenwood, a cannabis advocate with drive to propel cannabis into the mainstream:
How did you get involved in cannabis?
I met a cannabis activist group at a festival I was attending in Pennsylvania. I was really inspired by their passion to change the laws in the state of Pennsylvania. I’ve always believed in being hands-on when it comes to making a change for the greater good. So I started working as a volunteer at the meetings doing whatever I could to help the cause. Eventually, I realized that social media was also a great platform to get my message out there.
What is your mission with @wowashwow?
My message is pretty simple, just because you smoke cannabis, does not change who you are as a person, and in certain aspects, cannabis can enhance your inner unicorn. Everything that I do has been inspired by cannabis some way, whether it be the music I’m working on, the lifestyle parties that I like to coordinate, my new sneaker collection that is based around various cannabis plants. Everything that I do in my life, is inspired by one amazing little plant.
Where do you see yourself in the industry in 5 years?
I want to be an instrumental part in helping introducing cannabis into the mainstream media. The biggest dream is to have my own cannabis talk show. Sort of like CannaOprah!
What's the biggest challenge of working in the cannabis space and the biggest reward?
The biggest challenge is this industry is the unknown factor. With all of the changing laws, it’s sometimes a bit scary to know you’re investing your entire career and heart into an industry that's still in the early stages of cultivation. But that’s also the biggest reward -- being able to see everything grow and mature into something super dope and potent.
