Montana Medical Marijuana Initiative, I-182, passes with 56.2% in favor.

Montana voted to reinstate its medical marijuana laws through I-182. The initiative:

  • removes the previously enacted laws that restricted medical access to marijuana,
  • allows patients to access and use marijuana for several debilitating illnesses,
  • removes the unannounced inspections of medical marijuana facilities by law enforcement.

I-182 changes the existing laws by removing a required three-patent limit for marijuana providers. In 2011, an initiative was passed to ban medical marijuana advertisements and limited dispensaries to having three users This law made it nearly impossible to work.

Medical marijuana was originally made legal in 2004 in the state. For full text on the Montana Medical Marijuana Initiative you can click here.
