This is really weird! My "late in the season" babies were started outside mid-August and getting only about 7 hours of direct sun/day. They did very well and began flowering about 8 or 9 weeks later. Then I went to an expo at the local accessory store, and ended up buying a carbon metal halide lamp with reflector and ballast for my 2'x4'x5' space, and promptly mounted the light about 20" about the plants that were tall and reaching for more sun, so i had bent them over to get side buds also. I set the timer for 13 hours/day but whenever the sun was good I put them in the sun, supplementing it with the light, so overall they got 13 hours of sun/day. Within about a week I noticed new leaf growth on my buds, and realized I had confused the plants into a new vegetative state. So, for the last 6 weeks the buds have tripled in size due to new leaves but the flowers are also very large and full. Being that this is trial and error, I started cutting the total daily sun back slowly, and now see that the new sugar leaves on the buds are starting to yellow and die, which I take as a good sign. I stopped nutrients 2 weeks ago and have been flushing the plants after they dry out. The pistils on one plant are mainly brown, and on the other still half & half. My main determinant of maturity is checking the trichomes, and they are beginning to go from clear to milky on the more mature plant, still clear on the other. I think Im on the right track here to recovery and could have a great harvest, but manicuring all these new sugar leaves is going to be interesting!

So, I am asking and hoping to hear from some of you experts out there as to whether I should make any drastic changes at this point, or ride it out and see how the results are. And if you have any general comments or suggestions on my next crop, I greatly appreciate them!

Thank all of you!

Those last pics look doneish but its hard to tell without seeing the trichomes. Are they mostly milky or amber? If so they are ready. Also make sure you have started your flush by this point to get all those nasty tasting nutrients out of your bud.
