The problem is, many doctors and much of the public do not have a full understanding of this compound, how it interacts with the body, and how it can benefit health.

After hearing that only 13% of medical schools teach about the endocannabinoid system, the team at Hempure decided they would take it upon themselves to work with researchers and doctors to publish essential information related to the endocannabinoid system and CBD.

Why should you take the Crash Course? What makes CBD so special as a health supplement?

There are many reasons someone may want to learn about the Endocannabinoid System and consider taking CBD.

CBD is one of the most prevalent cannabinoids found in cannabis. Cannabinoids are a class of chemical compounds that behave in a similar way to neurotransmitters. Cannabinoids do not just exist in the cannabis plant but are also produced in the human body. The body’s own cannabinoids are referred to as endocannabinoids. These endocannabinoids work within the body’s Endocannabinoid System.

The body has 11 major physiological systems. The endocannabinoid system exists within and throughout all of these systems. Think of it like a “meta-system” that permeates all other systems of the body.

The ECS has one main purpose: establishing homeostasis. To understand what homeostasis means, think of the two extremes the body undergoes in regards to sleep. When someone hasn’t had enough sleep, that state is called exhaustion. When someone is too stimulated, that state is called “edgy” or “amped.” Between these two states is an undefined, ideal medium, a state that could be called “rested.” This state can be thought of as the state that lies in the middle of these two extremes. The ECS is the system that works to direct all of the systems of the body back to their respective ideal middle states.

Why does homeostasis matter?

Whenever the body gets out of balance, it begins to require both time and energy in order to heal. In extreme cases, homeostasis works to sustain our life by avoiding both illness and death. In a state of homeostasis, the immune system can fight off infection and disease. Even more than just sustaining and keeping life going, homeostasis has a major impact on the overall quality of life. When one is well rested and has sufficient energy, life becomes much more enjoyable. It is a state of health that enables both appreciation and enjoyment of life and the body.

Because of its similarity to the body’s endocannabinoids, CBD boosts the natural transmitters within the ECS and helps it to carry out the many processes the ECS carries out to reach homeostasis. By helping the ECS function better, more processes in the body reach homeostasis, which gives you more resources and energy to go out and live life.

Because of its ability to directly impact the endocannabinoid system and create homeostasis throughout all the system’s of the body rather than in one targeted place as many medications do, many doctors and scientists believe CBD could cause a paradigm shift in modern wellness.

The Hempure CBD Textbook aims to educate people about the many functions of the endocannabinoid system and the various benefits that come with taking CBD. Along with the textbook, an email crash course with quizzes and tests is available for those looking to gain a thorough understanding of CBD and the ECS.
